I pride myself in bringing a creative and natural feeling approach towards lighting design. Starting with a meeting with your company I will form an understanding of the message and style of your piece of art, grasping your requirements and expectations for the aesthetic and working to ensure that my mindset is aligning with your business.
From this point we will then schedule a follow up meeting for me to present ideas and suggestions for the design before we head to R&D, then we then move on to play in person and program the whole show to our joint design.
The final step sees me sending you a fully complete package of designs, stage plans and my contract for you to take forward and bring the art to life!
People are at the heart of the arts, without them we can't bring our work to life. Behind every all star cast is a strong and supportive stage manager.
I take a people-first approach to my stage management, believing that being supportive and understanding as well as organised and detail oriented is what makes an effective and successful leader back stage and in the rehearsal room.
With 5+ years of experience managing stages and productions I bring heightened communication and detail focused organisation to any show that I am placed in charge of. developing a strong relationship with venue, tech and performers I ensure that everyone is consistently "in the loop" and the overall production quality is, in turn, much higher.
I have spent 10+ years working alongside a variety of genres of performance and making use of a range of equipment. As a keen lighting operator I have familiarity with most common consoles and am a speedy learner meaning coming across an unusual desk will not shake my confidence.
Working in the audio sector I also have a lot of familiarity. Having mixed audio for live bands, dance pieces and more traditional theatre I am well equipped to work effectivly and successfully in any live situation to deliver strong and high quality results.
As a director, it's incredibly important for me to work with the best creatives, as I thrive in collaborative environments. I've had the pleasure of working with Matt on several projects, and each time he consistently delivers outstanding work. No job is too small or too large for him. Matt is a truly fabulous theatre technician who collaborates closely with you to ensure your vision is brought to life to the highest standard.
