As a director, it's incredibly important for me to work with the best creatives, as I thrive in collaborative environments. I've had the pleasure of working with Matt on several projects, and each time he consistently delivers outstanding work. No job is too small or too large for him. Matt is a truly fabulous theatre technician who collaborates closely with you to ensure your vision is brought to life to the highest standard. It also helps that laughter and fun go hand in hand with his professionalism and commitment to problem-solving. I always look forward to having Matt on my creative team.
It has been an absolute delight to work with Matt thus far. We first encountered him on one of our annual student showcases at MAC. I was so impressed by the way he created the lighting for each of our dance pieces (there were about 10!) based on some simple notes I had given him. The care and attention he took to make each one look beautiful and illustrate the mood and theme of each piece within a tight tech rehearsal was remarkable. I came to learn later from Matt that before the tech day he had done some research about the company and past productions to help him understand what kind of colours and designs we liked. I really appreciated his self initiation, it left an indelible impression. A few months after I invited him to design the lights of our internationally touring show Roshni which continues tour till date. I very much look forward to working with him on our next production.
